Zainab Ansari - 8 Year Old Brutally Raped & murdered

Coming across the horrendous case of the rape of a 8 year old Zainab Ansari from Pakistan boiled my blood just how it would to anyone else. It made me ponder upon a remorseful thought “is this world safe for us anymore?” Keeping aside the issues of short dresses or roaming around late at night, does a small girl not having her parents for a short period make it justified to rape her? Is the lust so cheap that it’s satisfaction can mean raping an 8 year old innocent?

Today, out of anger and remorse, I want to share some reasons which are giving rise to rapism and all other brutalities.

The Delayed Justice

India and Pakistan are always arguing about whose development is at a faster pace. However, I strongly feel that both are on the same lines in matters of few things, and judiciary is the most evident example. Both the countries have a bunch of judgmental people but when it comes to passing on judgments in courts, the matter takes years and centuries. The very case of Nirbhaya was the biggest example of the delayed justice provided by our country. Even after 5 years of the incident a proper judgement WHICH WAS IMPLEMENTED is yet to happen. It’s important to understand that delayed justice is just like denied justice. Matters like these when not solved lead to the road for people to take the law in their own hands.

Carelessness & Lack of Security

Leaving an 8 year old girl with a relative and going on Umrah is not what religion demands. Though, the gruesome act wasn’t justified in any way. The parents should have thought about their young girl as a parent’s care and security can never be substituted by any relative or friend. Also, an 8 year-old can’t be dressed in a provocative manner luring men. Men should be socialized in such a manner that they consider rape as dangerous as cannibalism and that’s important.
